It's All Growin' Up From Here

Here's What's New With the "Sir".....

Christmas break is here. Actually Christmas is only four days away; at least that's what Brother told me. He has a count down thing where he tears off the rings for each day that gets closer to Christmas and then he announces how many more days. He thinks he outsmarted me by hanging the rings too high for me to get to, BUT....he didn't realize that if he just let it low enough I could make Christmas happen TODAY, by just tearing off all the rings right now. And it would be so fun to do! I can't believe Brother hasn't thought of that yet. Usually he's pretty quick on the uptake, LOL.

Well, there's a lot going on right now. Mommy says that I'm going to enjoy this Christmas thing. I don't remember doing it last year....and I don't really know what to expect, but I like it so far. Mommy and Daddy have taken Brother and I to lots of different events this last week. We went and saw the Christmas Zoo Lights. It has been so cold outside, but Mommy bundled me up really good and I loved looking at all the lights. We also went to Peacock Lane and saw the entire neighborhood that was all lit up. Personally I think Grandma Ginny's house out-does them all! And I hear that she got a light up Santa and reindeer to put on her roof too! But what if that confuses Santa? Oh well, he's a smart guy, I suppose he'll figure it out. Let's see, where was I? Oh, Daddy took us to see the drive-thru Christmas lights at the Portland race track. Mommy didn't get to go - she was working. I really liked going to the Festival of Trees because they have all these trees really decorated and lots of presents under them. They also had a teddy bear hospital where Brother and I got teddy bears that had been bandaged up and a cast put on them. So Brother and I got to take them home and take good care of them.

I have really enjoyed having Mommy home during her vacation from school. She has been working on some 'consistency issues' (that's what she calls them). I don't know what she means, but supposedly I've been putting up some fuss and having some tantrums lately. I just get so frustrated when I don't get something I want or when I'm made to do something I don't want to do. I can't talk yet, so I just grunt, groan and yell a lot. Sometimes I stomp my feet and I've even been known to hit my brother and mommy. I just get so mad when they don't understand me. But Mommy says she won't have any of my tantrum behavior. She introduced me to the playpen/timeout corner. I don't like it in there very well. In fact, I hate it. She puts me around the corner and I can't see anyone.....and they just ignore me. Mommy says we still have some wrinkles to work out, but she thinks we're progressing. I say, that I just need to learn how to talk so I can vent my frustrations out in a verbal way.....then maybe I won't be taken wrong or misunderstood.

We've been taking lots of walks. It has been so cold...and we even got some snow a couple of days ago. I like walking around the neighborhood, but Mommy doesn't like it when I try to run out into the street.

Here's a couple of recent pictures that Mommy took of me. I like that man that stands next to our fireplace. Mommy said that he guards it so Santa has a safe arrival in a few days. He does need to learn a lesson or two from Daddy and shave his beard. And he should think about putting that sword away; it's not safe to have a weapon out.....unless he really thinks I'm that much of a threat to Santa.

Speaking of the big guy....I've tried to look for him...and even tried to call him on Mommy's cell phone, but no luck. He did, however, write Parker a letter. It came all the way from Finland! Hey, that's where Grandma Ginny went a few months ago. I wonder if she saw where he lives! I wondered why I didn't get a letter from him, but then again, I don't know how to read yet. However, he spoke to me through Grandma Ginny. She came by the other day and dropped off this new TV. Ours broke last week and I really missed my morning shows. Grandma Ginny said that she just went out to her car one morning, and there was the TV. She knew it wasn't hers, becuase hers is fine, so she figured it must have been left for us! Well, needless to say, I just think Santa ROCKS! I love playing in the big cardboard box. Brother and I spent almost 3 whole days playing in that thing, until Mommy finally got tired of having in the middle of the floor. Man, who needs a TV when you have a TV box?! Daddy was grateful for the TV, but was disappointed that Santa ruined his excuse to buy a new plasma television!

Here's a pic of me with my giraffe. He's my new best friend. I love carrying him around.

And a couple of short tid-bits since this entry is already sooooo long......
  • I'm down to 2 bottles a day. But I absolutely refuse to drink milk from a cup, YUCK. Mommy says I'm being a pain and she's tired of seeing the bottles. When she tried to take them from me, I just refused to drink, period. She says that I am very strong willed.
  • It's time for me to get shots - YUCK
  • My favorite shows are pretty much anything Brother watches, but I really pay attention to Blue's Clues, Little Einstein and my Baby Einstein videos.
  • I've recently started throwing my food off my highchair. yeah, Mommy doesn't like that either. So when she's not watching I put the food down my side between me and the side of the highchair. That really gets Mommy....she doesn't like to see me being sneaky.
  • My favorite toy right now is my Firetruck. It's almost as big as me and I love pushing it around the house. In fact, I love pushing anything around the house. Sometimes it's the laundry basket, other times it's the garbage can. I'll push anything - EVEN BROTHER! LOL
  • I still sleep with my pacifier, but Mommy says those days are numbered as well.
  • I've been given a spoon with my meals, but I have no idea what to do with it! It makes a great drum-stick.
  • I walk down the stairs pretty well, but ALWAYS with help.
  • I say 'night night', 'bye bye' 'go' and 'Mo' (from a show called The Doodlebops). I can find my foot and have successfully located my nose this week. I usually missed it by inches, pointing to my mouth.
  • I love showing my tonsils and touching my chin with my tongue. Mommy's good at it too, but she doesn't have tonsils anymore.
  • I love spinning around and making myself so dizzy that I can't stand up
  • Mommy finally turned me around in the van, so I can see what eveyone else sees. It's pretty cool....and I can see the movie screen too!
  • And finally - the most favorite thing I love to do - PLAY WITH BROTHER. I attack him all the time (sometimes when he doesn't want me to). But he's the best.

Well, I hope that catches you up. It's a good thing Mommy had the time to write this. I guess it won't be until Spring Break that we get to write again. So the trick will be to see if I can remember what I got for Christmas when I write again in March, LOL.

Have a very Merry Christmas and please say a prayer for 'Thanks and Blessings'. It's important to remember why we celebrate this wonderful season.

Cheers!
